Makram Khashman, 58, admitted during a hearing in Fort Lauderdale that he had met with an undercover Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) agent on two occasions to arrange the murder.

Mr Khashman reportedly sought revenge on the intended victim, who he claimed had taken over a million dollars from him and forced his family out of their home. He agreed to pay $5,000 for the killing, offering half up front and the rest upon receiving photographic evidence of the murder.

Khashman provided the agent with detailed information about the victim’s routine, including their work schedule and the location of a secluded area the victim frequented.

On March 19, 2024, Mr Khashman delivered the initial $2,500 payment, spelling out the victim’s name and providing further details. He was later arrested, and the intended victim was unharmed.

Khashman is scheduled to be sentenced on January 7, 2025, and faces up to 10 years in federal prison.

The case was investigated by ATF Miami, with Assistant United States Attorneys Corey O’Neal and Camille Smith prosecuting.
