NICEVILLE, Fla.—The Niceville Public Library celebrated its 50th anniversary over the weekend.
Since first opening its doors on June 8, 1974, the library has been instrumental in promoting community, learning, and involvement for the residents of Niceville.
The library was originally located at the corner of John Sims Parkway and Armstrong Avenue. Today, it is next to the community center in the municipal complex on Partin Drive.
Sheila Bishop, the director of the Niceville Public Library, has been integral to its success for over 40 years.
“I am so honored to be part of a wonderful team celebrating 50 years of library service to our community with a tradition of exceptional customer service and the unwavering support of our city leadership and devoted library patrons,” said Ms Bishop.
“It truly takes a village. Thank you, Niceville!”
The library marked the anniversary with free refreshments and giveaways on Friday and Saturday.
