Advisories were issued for the following locations:

  • Clement E. Taylor Park, 131 Calhoun Ave., Destin
  • James Lee Park, 3510 Scenic Highway 98, Destin,
  • Lincoln Park, 1217 N Bayshore Dr., Valparaiso
  • Rocky Bayou State Park, 4281 E Highway 20, Niceville

According to DOH-Okaloosa, tests completed on May 13, 2024, indicate that the water quality at Clement E. Taylor Park, James Lee Park, Lincoln Park, and Rocky Bayou State Park does not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the Florida Department of Health.

DOH-Okaloosa advises against water-related activities at these locations due to an increased risk of illness in swimmers. Regular water quality monitoring revealed that the level of bacteria was higher than the state-recommended level.

These advisories will continue until bacteria levels are below the accepted health level. Test results are available at FloridaHealth.gov/Healthy Beaches.
