The need for food assistance is substantial, and local food pantries like Sharing and Caring Niceville and Niceville Catholic Outreach depend on this event for crucial supplies.

According to John Plante, publicity volunteer for Sharing and Caring Niceville, the drive is “a huge help in supporting our community.”

To participate, leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods next to your mailbox before the regular mail delivery on Saturday. Suggested donations include canned soup, canned vegetables, canned meats and fish, pasta, peanut butter, rice and cereal.
