FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – Beginning Monday, August 1, 2022, westbound traffic on a portion of Racetrack Road will be restricted to one lane from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Okaloosa County has announced.

According to the statement, crews from Okaloosa County Water and Sewer are working on upgrading an aging clay gravity sewer line on Racetrack Road between Don Drive and Beach Drive in Fort Walton Beach.

The work will take place overnights Monday through Thursday for the next two weeks, said April Sarver, Okaloosa County Public Information Officer.

Because of the lane closure, westbound traffic congestion is possible. Motorists should use caution and be prepared to slow down.
