GULF BREEZE, Fla. – A Gulf Breeze man has been arrested and charged with the possession of obscene material, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has announced.

According to the FDLE, its agents and law enforcement officers from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the FBI arrested Gary David Goeke, 68, of Gulf Breeze on Tuesday.

The FDLE said Goeke has been charged with 30 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and one count of promotion of the sexual performance of a child.

The investigation began when the Pensacola Regional Operations Center Cyber Squad in May discovered an electronic device was sharing files of known child pornography, the FDLE said. Investigators say images found on Goeke’s computer depicted young females in an obscene manner.

Goeke was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail and will be prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office in the First Judicial Circuit. He is being held without bond.
