Niceville High’s Alec Fletcher creates Jingle Bell Jog logo, wins iPad

NicevilleDecember 5, 2014Updated:December 8, 20141 Min Read

Alec Fletcher, a junior at Niceville High School, won an iPad Air 2 for his design for the logo for the 36th Annual Green Berets Jingle Bell Jog which benefits the families of the Army 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne).

The logo contest sponsored by the Chapter VII of the Special Forces Association, encouraged high school students from across the School District to submit designs.  This year, over 90 submissions came from Niceville High School alone. Jill Frakes, Niceville’s IT-Digital Design teacher, incorporated the logo design into her classroom curriculum while the students learned how to use Photoshop.

“They enjoyed the challenge because it was a real world project that would be judged by outside people versus a typical class assignment,” said Frakes.
