Register now for ECTC’s Summer on Stage theater education program

MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. — Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) has announced its 2022 Summer on Stage theater education programs. The expanded 2022 season Includes 16 engaging educational theatre programs for kids from tots to teens

ECTC is a place where every child can come and be a part of something greater than themselves and work towards a common goal,” said Anna Fisher, ECTC co-founder and associate artistic/education director.

“Our goal at ECTC is to provide as many opportunities as possible for our students to come together and experience what it means to be a part of the tribe. Tribe means teamwork, tribe means confidence, tribe means community,”

ECTC continues its popular Educational Theatre Program with creative and engaging offerings designed especially for young thespians from kindergarten to high school. An overview of all ECTC Theatre Education Programs can be found at www.EmeraldCoastTheatre.org.

All programs are offered at Emerald Coast Theatre Company’s (ECTC) performance space located at 560 Grand Boulevard in Grand Boulevard Town Center in Miramar Beach.

Mini Player Camp (Ages 5-7, rising Kindergarteners)

Designed specifically for our youngest players, our Mini Player camps focus on activities that allow students to explore acting, singing, and movement in an energetic, nurturing environment that fosters creativity and collaboration. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. with a final performance on the last day of camp. Tuition $175.

May 31-June 3 ­– Winne the Pooh

June 6-10 – Disney Dreams
June 13-17 – Adventures in Candyland

June 20-24 – Dr. Seuss

July 11-15 – Pirates and Mermaids

July 18-22 – Frozen Dreams

Winnie the Pooh (Grades 2-5)

Welcome to Christopher Robin’s “100-acre wood,” home of all your favorite childhood friends: Piglet, Rabbit, Eeyore, Owl, Kanga, Roo, and of course that hunny loving bear, Pooh. Balloons, Heffalumps and Donkey-tails take the stage and everyone celebrates at a woodsy party. Happy Birthday to all of us and three cheers for the wonderful Winnie-the-Pooh.

Monday-Friday with a final performance on the last Friday of camp at 2 p.m. Tuition $250.

May 31-June 3 *9 a.m. -3 p.m.

*Extended drop off/pick up from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. available

Broadway Today: Teen Cabaret Moulin Rouge, Hamilton, Six (Grades 6-12)

Musical theater actors improve their craft through training in acting, voice, and movement/dance. This week-long workshop will have master classes in all three skills: activating songs through the use of acting techniques, the study of vocal techniques that enhance singing, choreography, and movement for the stage. This fun, high-energy workshop will culminate in a fantastic cabaret performance for friends and family.

Monday-Friday with a final performance on the last day of camp. Tuition $195.
May 31-June 3, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Camp Showtime: Broadway Disney (Grades 2-6)

Let the rhythm get you! Come act, sing, and dance your heart out to popular Broadway Disney show tunes as we learn simple choreography to some of the most popular musical numbers. We’ll also play theatre games and screen some classic musicals on film. Parents will be wowed with a performance on the last day of camp. Monday-Friday with a final performance on the last day of camp. Tuition $19

June 6-10 *9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

*Extended drop off/pick up from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. available.

The Play That Goes Wrong (Grades 7-12)

The Jungle Book Kids (Grades 2-5)

The jungle is jumpin’ with a jazzy beat in Disney’s “The Jungle Book KIDS.” Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, this adaptation features a host of colorful characters and your favorite songs from the movie. Banished by the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan, a human boy named Mowgli and his panther friend, Bagheera, are on the run in the deepest parts of the jungle. Monday-Friday for two weeks (skipping Saturday and Sunday) with a final performance on the last Friday of camp. Tuition $495 (payments available).

June 20-July 1 *9 a.m.-3 p.m.

*Final Performance: ECTC Friday, July 1 at 2 p.m.

Teen Improv Camp (Grades 6-12)

Techies Rule (Grades 6-12)

Get hands-on experience with set building, set painting, prop making, stage management, and costume construction. This camp is a great introduction to all of the behind-the-scenes magic that goes into producing a show. Work alongside ECTC’s Technical Director, Stage Manager and Costume Designer as you learn about everything that happens backstage. Campers will assist with the technical elements of all of our summer camps. Monday-Friday. Tuition $225.

June 6-10, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Film Camp (Grades 5-12)

Students learn to write, direct, and act during the process of creating a one-minute film. This is a fun, fast-paced class for any aspiring filmmakers out there—or anyone who loves a good movie! The week ends with an Oscars-style ceremony and screening of everyone’s masterpieces.
M-F; Tuition $250

July 4-8 *9 a.m.-3 p.m.

*Extended drop off/pick up from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. available.

“Newsies: The Musical”/Musical Theatre Intensive (Grades 6-12)

It’s time to carry the banner on your stage with Disney’s Newsies. Set in turn-of-the-century New York City, “Newsies” is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy, and leader of a band of teenaged “newsies.” When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what’s right. This show is packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs and great parts for boys and girls. This three-week camp will stretch your students’ theatre skills and grow them as performers. With unforgettable master classes in acting, voice, makeup, and dance, students will have the opportunity to work with ECTC’s theatre professionals in this amazing two-act, full-length show.

Monday-Friday; Tuition $945.
July 11-29 *9 a.m.-3 p.m.

*Final Performances: Friday, July 29 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, July 30 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 31 at 2:30 p.m.

A $30 non-refundable registration fee applies to each class. Multi-class discount, sibling discounts and payment plans are available.

All final summer camp performances have a suggested $10 donation with the exception of the following shows:

The Play that Goes Wrong – $18 adult, $16 senior/military, $14 student/child (lap child 0-3 years free)

Jungle Book– $16 adult, $14 seniormilitary, $10 student/child (lap child 0-3 years free) Newsies (this is a full length production) $22 adults, $20 senior/military, $18 student/child (0-3 years, lap child free)

Applications for the Paul Londe Scholarship fund are also available online. The summer scholarship deadline is May 1, 2022. Wait to receive your approved scholarship tuition code by email before registering.
