Niceville police release names of shooting victims

NICEVILLE, Fla. – The Niceville Police Department (NPD) has identified the two men who died, and the man reportedly injured in a shootout in a Niceville shopping center parking lot on Feb. 11.

“Our investigators and their partners from the State have been working diligently to solve this case. We have identified most of the persons involved,” the NPD said in a press release.

The deceased are Bryson Tyrese Mitchem of Niceville and Brandon Dequan James of Tallahassee, police reported.

The man wounded was Isaiah Lamar Luna of Tallahassee, according to the NPD.

“All parties were associated with each other and there is no threat to citizens of Niceville. We have nothing further at this time, as this is still an active investigation.”

James died at the scene, according to police. Mitchem was found dead at Lake Court and Palm Boulevard. Luna was found at the same location suffering from a non-fatal wound
