WALTON COUNTY, Fla. — Ginger Bowden Madden, State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit, has announced that Storm Royal Thayer has been indicted by the Walton County Grand Jury on the charge of first-degree premeditated murder.
The charge arose from an incident that occurred on July 12, 2021, at 1161 Troon Drive in Walton County, after the victim was repeatedly stabbed to death.
The defendant is being held without bond at the Walton County Jail and will be scheduled for a pretrial conference in the future, according to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
Walton County Sheriff’s Office was responsible for the investigation and arrest.
Following the initial investigation, Thayer was charged with second-degree murder, according to a WCSO press release.
Thayer has a lengthy criminal history including burglary, grand theft, aggravated battery, and child abuse, according to the WCSO. He was released from prison last March after serving time for the child abuse charges, the agency said in a press release.
