COVID cases decreasing in Okaloosa schools

NICEVILLE, Fla. — The number of new COVID-19 cases among students and staff in Okaloosa County schools has significantly dropped.

This is the third consecutive week of cases decreasing among students and staff.

There were 117 new COVID-19 cases reported in the week ending February 11, notably down from 347  new cases during the previous seven-day period, according to the Okaloosa County School District’s COVID-19 dashboard.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the overall positivity rate among students is 12.26 percent, according to the OCSD.

Elementary School Average – 11.91%

Middle School Average – 12.89%

High School Average – 11.79%

Combination/Other – 13.63%
