Primary election today in Okaloosa

NICEVILLE, Fla — It is primary election day in Okaloosa County. Polls are open until 7 p.m. throughout the county.  Okaloosa County offices up for election are Superintendent of Schools, school board member, and three county commission seats.

Okaloosa County offices up for election are Superintendent of Schools, school board member, and three county commission seats.

The winner of the district 1 and district 3 commissioner races will be determined today. The County Commissioner District 5 race is open only to Republicans; the winner will face off against a candidate with no party affiliation in November.

District 5 includes much of the Niceville area. Current District 5 County Commissioner Kelly Windes is not seeking re-election.

Okaloosa County Republicans also will choose the Republican candidate for State Representative District 4, who will face Democrat John Plante in November.
