2019 Niceville city election is July 16

A total of five candidates are vying for two city council seats in two separate city council races in Niceville.

Voters in the City of Niceville have the opportunity to decide two city council races in the upcoming 2019 municipal election set for July 16 in the Nicest Little City in the South.

A total of five candidates are vying for two city council seats in two separate city council races.

Running for the Group 5 seat are Cathy Alley, a Realtor; Paul Keith, owner and operator of a lawn care service company; and Warren Meigs, a Realtor.

Group 5 Councilman Heath Rominger is not seeking re-election.

In the contest for Group 3, Stephen Shelton, a certified public accountant, is running to unseat longtime Councilwoman Judy Boudreaux.

Boudreaux originally was elected in 1993. She was defeated in 2011 and then was returned to the council the following year when she faced no opposition for her current seat.

Re-elected without opposition are Group 1 Councilman Bill Schaetzle, and Mayor Randall Wise.

Niceville’s municipal election will be held in the council chambers at Niceville City Hall on July 16. Voters may vote in person or in advance by mail. The election is nonpartisan. For more information, call 850-279-6436 ext 1100.
