NICEVILLE, Fla. — The City of Niceville will host its 2026 Egg Dash on Saturday, March 28, at the Niceville Recreation Complex, inviting families to bring their baskets and join a long-standing local Easter tradition.
The City of Niceville announced the 39th annual event will begin at 11 a.m. sharp at the Niceville Recreation Complex, located at 200 Campbell Drive.
Thousands of plastic eggs will be scattered across the softball fields for children to collect during the dash.
According to the City of Niceville, each field will be assigned to a specific age group so children can safely participate with others their own age.
Children ages 10 and under are eligible to take part in the event. The age groups are:
- Two and under
- Three to four
- Five to seven
- Eight to 10
The City of Niceville encourages families to arrive early, recommending arrival before 10:30 a.m. to allow time for parking and locating the correct field before the dash begins.
The annual Egg Dash is one of Niceville’s longest-running community events and typically draws large crowds of families each spring.
If the weather becomes an issue, the City of Niceville said the Egg Dash will move to the rain date of Saturday, April 4.
