Residential complex coming to south side of Rocky Bayou Bridge

The site being readied for construction south of the eastern landfall of the Rocky Bayou Bridge in Niceville will reportedly be home to an eight-unit residential complex called Osprey Pointe.

Osprey Pointe will be constructed on 1.5 acres in front of and beside the Hampton Inn motel. The company behind the project is Bayou Bay LLC, led by developer Bob McElroy, according to an article published in the Northwest Florida Daily News.

Part of the site was once county public access land. The county turned over the sliver of property to the City of Niceville in 2015 at the request of Niceville City Manager Lannie Corbin, who said the city wanted the land to provide for private development.

The Niceville City Council approved the residential development by Bay Bayou LLC on May 10, 2016.
