Paving operations continue along John Sims Parkway (S.R. 20) in Niceville, from Edge Avenue to west of the Rocky Bayou Bridge. So far, crews have milled and placed the structural layer of asphalt for all of the westbound travel lanes and will continue working on the eastbound lanes. In the first step in this process, crews use milling machines (like the one pictured here) to remove the top layer of asphalt to create a fresh surface for the new asphalt.
