National Wreaths Across America Day is December 17, 2022. (Contributed)
To honor veterans during the upcoming holiday season, Wreaths Across America is inviting fifth- through eighth-grade students to submit an original essay titled, “Why We Should Remember Our Veterans.”
The essay should be 250 to 400 words. The winning entry will be read by the author at the Wreaths Across America Remembrance Ceremony on December 12, 2015 at Barrancas National Cemetery at Pensacola Naval Air Station.
Prizes will be awarded to the top fifth- and sixth-grade essay, and seventh- and eighth-grade essay.
Essays should be emailed to Wreaths4Barrancas@gmail.com or mailed to Wreaths Across America, 5300 Pale Moon Drive, Pensacola, FL 32507. The deadline for entries is Nov. 6, 2015.
