Two dead, one hospitalized following parking lot shooting in Niceville

NICEVILLE, Fla.Two people are dead and another hospitalized following a shooting in Niceville Friday evening in the parking lot of Oak Creek Shopping Center on John Sims Parkway,

According to a report by the Niceville Police Department, around 7:30 p.m. on Friday Niceville Police responded to 1118 John Sims Pkwy for a disturbance call. Upon arrival, officers found one man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The man died at the scene.

While investigating that call, another call was dispatched reporting two gunshot victims were on the ground at Lake Court and Palm Blvd.

Officers responded and found one person deceased and one with a non-fatal wound.

One subject was transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for treatment and is in stable condition at this time.

Police believe the shooting occurred in the parking lot and the second scene was just where the others were dropped off.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, State Attorney’s Office, Medical Examiner’s Office, and Valparaiso Police assisted the Niceville Police with the investigation.

There is no threat to the citizens at this time, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing.

Leads have been developed and evidence has been collected that identify persons of interest.

More updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.

No names are being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
