On Saturday June 16, 2018 the Niceville Valparaiso Rotary Club will hold the second in a series of Invasion on the Bayou paddle board races at the Bluewater Bay Marina Complex. The public is invited to participate.
The race is an out and back Stand-Up Paddle Board Race. There will be a One-Mile Fun Race (surf style boards only), and a three- and six-mile race (surf and race-style board divisions).
The race is a Rotary Club project that supports reading literacy and water safety. Money raised from the project buys the book, Josh the Baby Otter, to take into local preschools and give to the children.
The race will begin and end at LJ Schooners Dockside Restaurant & Oyster Bar located at Bluewater Bay Marina Complex. The activities begin at 9:15 a.m. with the One-Mile Fun Race. The three- and six-mile races begin at 10 a.m.
Early registration is $25; otherwise registration is $30 on the day of the race (registration is from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on race day). Register online here.
A raffle drawing will be held at 11 a.m. for a BOTE Drift Bug Slinger inflatable paddle board valued at $1,399.
