FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said its deputies arrested three individuals Monday night who were reportedly in a stolen vehicle fleeing from deputies with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
The trio faces various charges after Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) deputies reportedly stopped them by deploying spike strips.
According to the OCSO, the car, a 2014 Honda Accord, had been reported stolen out of Fort Walton Beach on September 5. An OCSO sergeant spotted it at Anchors Street and Hill Avenue around 11 p.m., but the driver, later identified as Sebastian Orr, 25, of Fort Walton Beach, reportedly refused to pull over.
Another OCSO deputy successfully deployed spike strips near Green Acres Boulevard and Beal Parkway, and the OCSO said Orr ultimately stopped on Yancey Street.
Deputies said they found a loaded revolver under the driver’s seat with one spent shell casing inside the vehicle.
Orr is charged with felony fleeing and eluding and driving with a suspended or revoked license. Deputies say Orr’s license had been suspended since October 2012 for a fleeing and eluding charge.
Front seat passenger Kaitlin Burnett, 21, of Fort Walton Beach, is charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle. She reportedly also has a hold by Santa Rosa County for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
A passenger in the back seat, Jamal Thompson, 19, of Pensacola, is charged with carrying a concealed firearm and resisting an officer without violence.
