OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. – A resurfacing project is set to begin on State Road 85 north of Commerce Drive in Crestview.
The $6.7 million construction project is scheduled to begin later this month, said the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
According to the FDOT, the project includes milling and resurfacing a five-mile segment of State Road 85 from north of Commerce Drive in Crestview to Bill Lundy Road (County Road 85A) in Okaloosa County.
The project includes sidewalk improvements, signalization upgrades, and drainage enhancements, including new curbs and gutters.
The FDOT said lane closures and traffic impacts will not be permitted during peak traffic hours, holidays, or special events at Crestview High School.
During the process of improving sidewalks and crosswalks, pedestrians may need to take a temporary detour.
The project is estimated for completion in late 2023.
