Nitrate Gloves Donated to the Health Department
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla –Local restaurateur Dewey “Parker” Destin has donated more than 5,000 nitrile exam gloves to the Okaloosa County Health Department for distribution to healthcare and nursing home workers.
Destin loaded the boxes of gloves in his pickup truck and personally delivered them Monday to the Health Department.
“I’m beyond blessed to be in the position to donate over 5,000 exam gloves to the Okaloosa County Health Department for distribution to our nursing homes and hospitals,” said Destin on Monday.
He said his restaurants use nitrile gloves when handling or preparing food.
“These gloves do no good sitting on my shelves when we are not prepping food for my restaurants,” he said.
Destin encouraged others to donate what they can.
“In the near future, there is likely to be a need for each of us to release surplus healthcare supplies that we have on hand–masks, bleach, etc.– to support the critical mission of our healthcare system,” Destin said. “Each of us needs to do our part. We will persevere together!”
