Okaloosa County road crews are improving the road shoulder along Redwood Avenue in Niceville which in many places is soft and deteriorating.
Crews will be constructing a two – to three-foot wide apron of milled asphalt adjacent to the roadway in order to stabilize the road shoulder and improve stormwater runoff.
Most of the work is between 27th Street and 18th Street.
Limestone also is likely to be placed in low-lying areas along the road.
The new apron is not a designated sidewalk or walking path but it can be used by pedestrians.
