Experience a day of authentic pioneer activities at the 2014 Pioneer Day, to be held Saturday, November 15, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park in Niceville.
Pioneer Day 2014 will feature more than 30 exhibits and hand-on crafts projects at the park. Family activities will include candle-dipping, rag doll making, basket-weaving, butter churning, shingle making and campfire cooking demonstration.
Displays will also include early folk toys, and a 19th century chuck wagon. Speakers will talk about the turpentine industry that flourished in our area back in the day.
Vintage music will be played on flutes, banjos and harmonicas.
Admission to the park and the Pioneer Day event is free of charge.
