PENSACOLA, Fla.— A Pensacola coffee company is the recipient of Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Back the Blue Award for supporting local law enforcement.
De Luna Coffee International, a locally owned coffee producer in Pensacola, received the award last week. The award recognizes the company’s efforts to support the Escambia County Sheriff Foundation (ECSF). The foundation works to build positive relationships between law enforcement and local communities.
“Law enforcement officers work grueling schedules to keep us safe. While we are sleeping, officers are patrolling the streets, monitoring traffic, and keeping watch over our communities,” said Moody.
“During these long nights and early mornings, coffee can be crucial—and I think it’s fitting that a local coffee company stepped up to help law enforcement and support the mission of the Escambia County Sheriff Foundation.”
De Luna Coffee recently launched a new product and promised to donate some of the proceeds to the ECSF. The foundation’s primary goal is to strengthen the bond between the sheriff’s office and the community it serves, Moody’s office said in an announcement.
According to the announcement, ECSF is responsible for community engagement efforts like the award-winning Sheriff’s Blazer Academy. The Sheriff’s Blazer Academy immerses young men and women in an environment that will provide mentoring and instruction on many topics, such as courtesy, responsibility, empowerment, and respect.

The ECSF also hosts unique events for residents of the Escambia County area and the men and women of the sheriff’s office to come together and build positive relationships. Some of these events include:
Moody launched the statewide Back the Blue campaign soon after taking office in 2019. The campaign highlights law enforcement officers, citizens, and organizations taking extraordinary steps to forge positive relationships between law enforcement and local communities.
