OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — North District deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) recovered two separate stolen vehicles within less than two hours of each other on Sunday, the OCSO has announced.
According to the OCSO, Odon Garza, 32, of Quincy, was heading east on Highway 90 around 6:45 p.m. on May 1 when a Flock license plate reader picked up that the U-Haul he was driving had been reported stolen in Murfreesboro Tennessee.
A deputy made a traffic stop and Garza was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle.
Around 8:15 p.m. another deputy located a white pickup truck in the area of Highway 90 and Coleman Street and a check revealed the truck was reported stolen in Walton County, the OCSO said.
After a traffic stop, Danae Stiner, 33, of Tucson, Arizona was taken into custody on a charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle.
The OCSO said Stiner admitted she didn’t know who the truck belonged to and had taken it without the owner’s permission.
