Drivers will encounter a road closure on U.S. 98 from Memorial Parkway to Beal Parkway on Monday, Jan. 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration Parade.

— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers may experience traffic disruptions Sunday, Jan. 14 through Thursday, Jan. 18, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for utility work and construction activities in the following locations:

  • U.S. 98 east and westbound alternating and intermittent lane closures between Ferry Road and Pier Road.

Last week, crews shifted the State Road 85 north and southbound travel lanes toward the outside of the roadway, between south of Antioch Road/Live Oak Church Road and Southview Drive in Crestview. This slight shift of the State Road 85 travel lanes toward the outside of the roadway provides space for crews to work in the median construction zone. The work is part of the State Road 85 improvement project, from State Road 123 to Hospital Drive in Okaloosa County. The $25 million State Road 85 improvement project also includes resurfacing 11 miles of State Road 85, making improvements at the State Road 85/I-10 interchange, and upgrading access management for key turn lanes, side streets, driveways, and median openings. The project is currently estimated for completion in summer 2024. (Contributed)
