October 7 COVID-19 report for Okaloosa includes another death

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 5,232, 26 since yesterday morning. The death toll in Okaloosa now is 118, one more death reported since yesterday.

Statewide, 2,582 new cases were reported since yesterday.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville and Valparaiso is 723.

The number of cumulative hospitalizations related to coronavirus in Okaloosa is 308, two since yesterday.

According to the state DOH, yesterday there were 338 tests returned in Okaloosa with 28 positives. The daily positivity rate was 8.28 percent, up from 8.06 percent from the previous day and more than twice the state average of 4.04 percent for the day.

Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate was 8.17 percent for the week ending Oct. 3, slightly up from 8.0 percent the previous week. The state’s positivity rate for the week was 4.66 percent
