October 11 COVID-19 report for Okaloosa, Niceville

NICEVILLE, Fla — After failing to issue a COVID-19 report yesterday—reportedly due to a data issue with a lab—the Florida Department of Health reports this morning the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 5,380, 57 since Friday. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville and Valparaiso is 744.

The DOH reports today the total number of COVID-19 -related deaths in Okaloosa County is 122, no change.

Statewide, 5,570 new cases were reported today with 178 new deaths.

The number of cumulative hospitalizations related to coronavirus in Okaloosa is 313, one since Friday. The FDOH reports today there are 12 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.

According to the FDOH, there were 630 tests returned since Friday in Okaloosa with 35 positives. The daily positivity rate is calculated at 5.56 percent.  The state’s positivity rate reportedly was 3.45 percent.

Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate was 7.79 percent for the week ending Oct. 10, down from 8.17 percent the previous week. The state’s weekly positivity rate was 4.52 percent.
