American Airlines has announced the debut of nonstop service from the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) beginning March 9, 2019.
Saturday service will be operated on the Embraer E-175 regional jet.
“Chicago is the 28th nonstop destination here at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport, and adding this destination contributes significantly to visitor spending and the local economy just in time for our popular spring travel season,” said Tracy Stage, Okaloosa County Airports Director.
“Over 1.4 million assengers are projected to have traveled through our doors in 2018, and we are excited to welcome passengers from the Windy City to our beautiful Emerald Coast.”
