NICEVILLE, Fla. – The Niceville Police Department said it arrested a man after reportedly finding drugs in his vehicle and learning the man had an active out-of-state arrest warrant.
According to an announcement by the Niceville Police Department (NPD), Joseph Gaddy Sailers was arrested after an officer reportedly conducted a traffic stop for an expired registration.
During the traffic stop, the NPD said it determined Sailers had an active warrant with nationwide extradition from Cobb County, Georgia. The warrant is reportedly for charges of aggravated assault with intent to murder, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Sailers was also charged by the NPD with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment. Reportedly, K-9 Kodi alerted to the odor of narcotics, and a subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly found 3.9 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, the NPD said.
Sailers was transported to the Okaloosa County Jail, where he is currently held with no bond.
