(NICEVILLE, FLA) – The site has been cleared for the new Niceville Public Landing, a unique, waterfront park, and boardwalk which will be built on Bayshore Drive in old downtown Niceville, on the shore of Boggy Bayou. The First phase of the project is expected to be completed before June 30, 2017.
The landing site is near the intersection of Bayshore Drive and Armstrong Avenue, across for The Front Porch and Café Bienville.
The Niceville Public Landing will feature a boardwalk with areas for boat tie-ups. Phase I of the project will include a pedestrian boardwalk, landscaping, and a paved area for gatherings. A boat dock and other facilities may be constructed later.
The Niceville Public Landing is the centerpiece of the 340-acre Niceville community redevelopment area. Established in 2012, the district includes the Old Settlement of the City of Niceville located on Boggy Bayou, State Road 20 area from Niceville High School to State Road 85, and State Road 85 to Niceville’s western city limits.
City officials are hopeful the project will rejuvenate the area, making it a focal point of our community.
