We could not ask for better weather for the 2017 Niceville Christmas Parade presented by the Niceville-Valparaiso Rotary Club. The parade takes place in the nicest little city in the south on Saturday morning beginning at 10 a.m., and the forecast calls for partly sunny skies and the temperature to be around 70 degrees during the parade.
Dozens of civic and youth groups, organizations, churches, businesses, and individuals will take part in the happy and festive annual event, and thousands will line the streets to enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas.
What?! There is candy and other goodies, to boot!
Niceville’s Christmas Lady, Debbie Lewis, has been selected as the Parade Grand Marshall. Debbie regularly hosts the Animation in Motion Christmas display this time of the year and has since 1994, though this year’s event is canceled. (see related story).
The Niceville Christmas Parade marks the official arrival of Santa Claus in Niceville. Santa will visit with children at the Children’s Park on Saturday evening (see related story).
The parade theme for 2017 is “Christmas: Making a Difference.” The theme reflects the 2017 Rotary Club International theme for 2017, “Rotary: Making a Difference.”
The parade route is designed to enable all entrants to complete the entire route. The parade route begins on John Sims Pkwy at the intersection of Palm Blvd., and goes to Partin Drive where the parade will turn north and travel up Partin Drive between the Children’s Park and Ruckel Middle School.
