Niceville cheerleaders take first place in competition

The Niceville High School competitive cheerleaders won first place at the West Nassau High School regional competition in Callahan in a competition held January 14. The local squad competed against regional rival Bishop Kenny High.

Niceville High’s small varsity team spent many hours, including holidays and weekends, working to perfect its routine. The team is coached by Kait Akos and Joanna Walls.

In the coming weeks, the Niceville High School competitive cheerleaders will compete in the FHSAA Regionals, and state competition. Also, the team will compete for the national title at the UCA Nationals.
