Niceville bomb threat referencing Matt Gaetz’s mailbox deemed false

NICEVILLE, Fla. — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) responded to a bomb threat Wednesday morning involving a mailbox supposedly linked to former Congressman Matt Gaetz in the Niceville area.

According to the OCSO, the bomb threat was reported around 9 a.m. at a home where a family member of the former congressman resides. Authorities confirmed that Mr Gaetz does not live at the address.

The mailbox was cleared, and no devices were found. Law enforcement also conducted a search of the surrounding area, which yielded no threats or hazardous materials.

The OCSO reported there was no danger to the public.
