Niceville is a Safe City
Niceville has been named one of the Safest Cities in Florida for 2019 by the National Council for Home Safety (NCHS) and one of Florida’s Top 50 Safest Cities by Safewise in a separate study.
The Nicest Little City in the South was ranked the 26th safest city in Florida for 2019 in a study released by NCHS slipping from #22 last year. Safewise named Niceville as the state’s 14th Safest City for 2019.
Cities were ranked based on formulas which considered the number of reported violent crimes (aggravated assault, murder, rape, and robbery) and property crimes (burglary, arson, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft) per 1,000 people.
According to the NCHS study, Niceville’s violent crime rate is 1.04 per 1,000 and its property crime rate is 16.255 per 1,000.
The average for the state is 4.4 violent crimes per 1,000 and 31.24 property crimes per 1,000.
Fort Walton Beach is ranked #54 in the NCHS survey. Niceville is the only local city named in the Top 50 by Safewise.
