Looking to catch big redfish? If so, you may want to fish Shirk Bayou in Niceville.
Niceville’s Jimmy Wonsick did exactly that in September, 2014, and sent us this photo of his awesome catch, which he released back into the bayou after the picture was taken.
Wonsick, who was fishing from a boat, caught the redfish (also known as red drum) using live shrimp for bait. He was using an open face reel with the bail open, free-lining the shrimp.
Shirk Bayou is located in the southern part of Niceville, south of Bayshore Drive.
