New dog-focused lifestyle magazine now available

SANTA ROSA BEACH, FLA — A new canine-focused lifestyle magazine has hit the stands in Northwest Florida. The new magazine, Dog-Harmony Life, was started by local nonprofit, Dog-Harmony, to enrich the lives of humans and their canine companions.

“We started Dog-Harmony Life to help push out more educational content to our community,” said Steve Barber, Editor of Dog-Harmony Life. “We saw it as an opportunity to reach dog owners in an easy-to-digest and interesting way.”

The magazine features a variety of dog-related content. For example, in the first-ever released issue in December, readers found tips for introducing your dog to riding a stand-up paddle board, a holiday gift guide for the dog and dog lover in your life, a story about how to select the best food for your dog and more.

Dog-Harmony, a Santa-Rosa-Beach-based nonprofit, works in our local community to keep dogs out of shelters and in happy, healthy homes, with children’s programs and animal-assisted therapy playing a key part in this mission.

The nonprofit’s focus remains educational programs, like children’s bite prevention workshops and low-cost training; microchipping; spay and neuter scholarships and transport; and individualized adoption, all of which create a healthier environment for humans and dogs in our community.

“This magazine is just a new way to provide our community with educational dog content without them having to attend an event,” said Barber. “Plus, it’s presented in a more exciting, interesting way to help all dog owners.”

Dog-Harmony Life is selling ads within the publication to fund the production and distribution of the magazine as well as help with the cost of the nonprofit’s many programs, so businesses interested in reaching pet owners are encouraged to reach out to learn more about purchasing ad space.

“Every penny given to Dog-Harmony goes towards creating a better community for the dogs and people in our area,” said Barber.

Issues are available for purchase on Dog-Harmony’s website to be shipped directly to those interested, but magazines are also available for pick up at multiple locations throughout Northwest Florida, like The Doggy Bag in Destin.
