Military Appreciation Picnic on Navarre Beach is May 14

NAVARRE, Fla. – The 2022 Military Appreciation Picnic “Saluting Our Hometown Heroes” is set to take place on Navarre Beach on May 14. All active duty and retired service members and their families are invited to enjoy a free day of food, fun, games, fellowship and live music, the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has announced.

The picnic is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Manta Ray Parking Lot in the Navarre Beach Marine Park, 8705 Gulf Boulevard.

It will be dedicated to honor, remember, recognize and appreciate those who have served and those now serving, the Chamber said.

“In the Navarre area, these everyday heroes surround us. They are our neighbors, little league coaches, co-workers, friends, and/or visitors to our community,” said Steve Rhodes, Chair of the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Military and Veteran Affairs Committee.

“We make it a point to express our gratitude during the month of May (and beyond) to those currently serving in the armed forces, veterans and their families.”

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Military and Veteran Affairs Committee is hosting the annual event presented by Eglin Federal Credit Union, Florida Power and Light, and Step One Automotive Group.

The Military Appreciation Picnic is co-hosted by the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Office/#RelaxInNavarreBeach and the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Military and Veteran Affairs Committee is still seeking sponsorships, volunteers, door prize donations, and goody bag items for the event,

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Committee Military and Veteran Affairs Committee is a group of Navarre Chamber Members who volunteer service to the military through support of the military mission and enhancement of the relationship between the community and the military.
