Math Bowl award winners include Niceville High, Rocky Bayou Christian School

NICEVILLE, Fla.- Eight high school teams from across Northwest Florida gathered at Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) on March 4, 2022, to compete in the 34th annual Math Bowl.

The competing schools were divided into two classes, Class Y for smaller schools and Class Z for larger schools.

After spending the day completing written exams and ciphering matches, students were invited to an awards ceremony where the individual and team winners were announced.

Pensacola Catholic High School and Rickards High School, Tallahassee won team first-place awards in their respective divisions.

Tyler Ruble of Pensacola Catholic High and Karthik Vedula of Rickards High, Tallahassee won individual first-place awards.

Karthik Vedula was the overall winner of the competition.

Rocky Bayou Christian School won the third-place team award for the small school division and Niceville High School won the third-place team award for the large school division

“Northwest Florida State College was pleased to continue the tradition of hosting the Math Bowl for high school students in our area,” said NWFSC President Dr. Devin Stephenson.

“We are proud of all of the participants for their hard work and dedication to STEM education. This year’s participants are great examples of the bright minds that will shape our future.”
