The Membership of the Kiwanis Club of Niceville-Valparaiso answered the call to help replenish the food pantry at Children In Crisis. The club recently presented a check for $3,000 to Ken Hair, CIC President and CEO, to help bridge the shortage in the CIC food pantries caused by the children’s school summer vacation.
“The Niceville-Valparaiso Kiwanis Club has a wonderful membership that’s always ready and willing to help support our children living at the CIC Neighborhood,” said Hair.
“Now that we have seven foster homes open to give a home to at-risk children, on any given day we have over 50 kids living at the Neighborhood. Support from the Kiwanis is a great example of their passion for children.”
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Its mission is serving the children of the world, which by all accounts is a very rewarding experience.
Children in Crisis, Inc. is a 501(c)(3), non-profit charity of caring people working together to provide homes and establish hope to the abused, neglected, and abandoned children of our community. The Children’s Neighborhood is a beautiful facility, built by the generous support of our community. It has an emergency shelter for children who are removed without notice from an unsafe environment and family foster homes for young children.
