NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health on Tuesday reported 26 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County since the last state report on May 28. There are five new cases in Niceville and Valparaiso.
The FDOH reports 33 vaccinations were administered in Okaloosa County the previous day. The cumulative number of people vaccinated in Okaloosa is 68,876. The number of people who have completed the vaccination series in Okaloosa is 57,731, according to FDOH data.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa is 20,890.
The FDOH reports the total number of people killed by COVID-19 in Okaloosa is 367, no change since the previous report.
OKALOOSA COUNTY VACCINATION INFORMATION
Statewide, 5,927 new cases were reported by the FDOH since the last state report on May 28. The current cumulative total is 2,326,755. The total number of Florida residents who have died from COVID-19 in the state is 36,869.
The cumulative number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa is 760, two more since the previous report. Currently, there are 10 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.
According to the FDOH, since the previous report, there were 106 test results returned in Okaloosa with 3 positives. The daily positivity rate is 2.83 percent.
According to the FDOH, Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate is 5.3 percent for the week ending May 22, up from 4.43 percent the previous week.
Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 4.2 percent (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.
