July 1 COVID-19 cases update for Okaloosa; deaths increase to seven

NICEVILLE, FLA, JULY 1, 2020 — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning a seventh death in Okaloosa County related to COVID-19. The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 704, 38 more since yesterday morning. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville and Valparaiso is 66.

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning a seventh death in Okaloosa County related to COVID-19. The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 704, 38 more since yesterday morning. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville and Valparaiso is 66.

Statewide, the number of cases is 158,997 an increase of 6,563 since yesterday morning.

The number of cumulative resident hospitalizations related to coronavirus in Okaloosa is 60, one more since yesterday. Fifteen people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized in Okaloosa; nine are in ICU. County hospitals have seven ICU beds available.

The number of deaths in Okaloosa County is seven, one more since yesterday. The most recent victim was a 90-year-old man. He had not been residing in a long-term facility when he contracted COVID-19.

  • Destin, 118, 24 more since yesterday

  • Mary Esther, 43, two more since yesterday
  • Eglin AFB, 8, no change
  • Laurel Hill, 5, no change
  • Baker, 9, one less since yesterday
  • Holt, 4, no change
  • Valparaiso, 5, no change

Florida does not publish data about deaths for persons under 18. Florida also does not publish testing, case or condition data for people in county/local jails, state prisons, migrant communities, or cumulative totals for testing and cases in long-term care facilities, probable cases and deaths before testing was available, or non-resident data at the zip code or city level
