NICEVILLE, Fla. – Students attending Niceville High School, Ruckel Middle School and Bluewater Bay Elementary School can continue to participate in Italian language courses thanks to the renewal of a partnership and funding agreement.
Colonel Daniele Mastroberti, representing the Consulate General of Italy in Miami, was recognized at the February 22, 2021, School Board meeting in appreciation of his work toward the renewal of the partnership and funding for the Italian program in the Okaloosa County School District through 2023.
The renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Consulate General of Italy in Miami and the School Board of Okaloosa County was approved by the Board in June.
“Tonight, we celebrate our continued partnership which is approved through 2023 and allows students at Bluewater Elementary School, Ruckel Middle School, and Niceville High School to participate in Italian courses,” said Marcus Chambers, Superintendent of Schools.
“The program funds teacher salaries and resources and provides ongoing support for the Italian teachers. The Italian program is an asset to our District’s World Languages curriculum.”
Colonel Daniele Mastroberti is the Italian Senior National Representative, Italian Training Supervisor, and Commander of the Italian F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Pilot Program at Eglin Air Force Base.
