The Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra‘s 30th Season continues on Friday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m. with a “Holiday Pops” concert in the Mattie Kelly Arts Center, Mainstage Theater with Jeffrey Rink, Music Director and Conductor. The concert also features the Northwest Florida Symphony Chorale Chorale under the direction of its new conductor Michael Dye, choral director at Niceville High School, and the NWF State College Belle Voci female vocal ensemble with Lois Henry Music Director and Conductor.
The Holiday Pops concert includes Christmas works such as O Come O Come Emmanuel, The Shepherds Chorus from Amahl and the Night Visitors, I Wonder as I Wonder, Arcangelo Corelli’s Christmas Concerto, as well as Mozart’s Selections from Vespers including the Magnificat and Brahms’ Ave Maria . Other popular holiday selections such as A Christmas Festival, Rocket Sleigh, Let It Snow, Sleigh Ride and more are also featured, as well as a carol sing-along with the audience.
Holiday Pops tickets are $25 each adult and $18 for Active Duty military and their family and $18 for youth age 18 and younger. NWF State College students may receive 1 free ticket per ID in person from the Box Office. Tickets are available in advance or at-the-door starting at 12:30 pm the day of the concert. The Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra (NFSO) is the Emerald Coast’s first fully professional orchestra and was established in 1987. All NFSO concerts are held in the Mattie Kelly Arts Center’s 1,650 Mainstage Theater where a custom orchestra shell provides the optimum in acoustics for symphony patrons. The NFSO is a non-profit organization operated under the auspices of Northwest Florida State College.
