Governor appoints NWFSC’s Devin Stephenson to state board

NICEVILLE, Fla. — Devin Stephenson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Florida State College, is among four individuals appointed last week to the Board of Control for Southern Regional Education.

On Friday, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Stephenson, of Niceville, Megan Crombie of Tallahassee, Arthur Keiser of Parkland, and Representative Alex Rizo of Hialeah to the board.

Here is more about the appointees as provided by the Governor’s office:

G. “Devin” Stephenson, PhD
Stephenson, of Niceville, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Florida State College. With over 30 years of experience, he is a current member of the Florida Delegation for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Stephenson earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Birmingham Southern College, and his master’s and doctorate degrees in higher education administration from the University of Alabama.

Megan Crombie
Crombie, of Tallahassee, is a teacher and instructional specialist at Florida State University School. She was named Florida State University School and K-12 District Teacher of the Year and is a member of the Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Florida Lead Teacher Network. Crombie earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Central Florida, a master’s degree in special education from the University of South Florida, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of West Florida.

Arthur Keiser, PhD
Keiser, of Parkland, is the Chancellor and founder of Keiser University and Southeastern College. He serves as the current Chairman for the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity and is a member of the Florida Council of 100, the Career College Association, and the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida. Keiser earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Tulane University, his master’s degree from the University of Florida, and his doctorate degree in higher education administration from Union Institute and University.

Representative Alex Rizo
Representative Rizo, of Hialeah, is an educator and small business owner. He currently represents District 110 in the Florida House of Representatives. Rizo earned his bachelor’s degree in biological science from Florida International University and his master’s degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
