The Niceville Eagles Lacrosse Club Girls Team is hosting a lacrosse clinic for girls on August 12 in Niceville. All girls interested in lacrosse, experienced or not, are encouraged to attend and learn about the area’s fastest growing sport.
The free Saturday morning clinic will take place Aug. 12, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Twin Oaks Sports Complex, located at the intersection of College Blvd. and State Road 85 North. The clinic will be held on the north field closest to the Niceville Dog Park.
The clinic is open to all ages — elementary, middle school and high school. No gear or experience is required. Girls interested in lacrosse are invited to learn skills and meet the girls already playing.
Girls who have a mouth guard and cleats should bring them.
Lacrosse is a team sport played between two teams using a crosse (long-handled stick) and a lacrosse ball. Players use the head of the lacrosse stick to carry, pass, and catch the ball. Points are scored by shooting the ball into the opponent’s goal.
Registration for the fall lacrosse season opens September 1. Practice begins October 4 and the regular season starts in January 2018.
