The court also ordered the tax preparer, Dexter Bataille, to pay $134,400 in ill-gotten gains from his tax preparation activities.

The complaint alleged that Mr Bataille, doing business as Capital Financial Group Holdings LLC, prepared returns for clients that included fraudulent claims, such as false deductions, inflated expenses, misreported filing statuses, and fictitious reports of household help income.

These fraudulent filings reportedly generated inflated business losses for his clients.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Bataille agreed to the permanent injunction, which not only bans him from tax preparation but also prevents him from transferring his customer lists.

The closure of Mr Bataille’s tax preparation business and financial penalties are part of the court’s efforts to prevent further fraudulent activities.

Deputy Assistant Attorney General David A. Hubbert of the Justice Department’s Tax Division announced the resolution.
