FLORIDA — The Florida Department of Health has announced that beginning April 5 Floridians 16 years of age and older are eligible to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine as prescribed by the FDA.
Individuals must be 18 or old to receive the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
The FDOH made the announcement to clarify the initial announcement by Governor Ron DeSantis that stated all vaccine recipients had to be 18 or older.
“Effective April 5, all Floridians will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as prescribed by the FDA. This includes persons 16 years of age and older (Pfizer-BioNTech) or 18 years of age and older (Moderna or Johnson & Johnson),” states an announcement posted on the Okaloosa Department of Health website.
“These individuals can register for the vaccine the week of April 5-9 starting March 30 at noon.”
