Crews are constructing a new State Road 85 northbound left-turn lane to access Crestview Commons. As shown in this photo, the turn lane is starting to take shape from the S.R. 85 median, looking north toward Hospital Drive. This new turn lane will provide space outside of the travel lanes for vehicles to queue, increasing safety and improving traffic flow by minimizing impacts to drivers continuing on S.R. 85 northbound. To accommodate these projects and the interchange construction underway near the Antioch Road overpass, the I-10 speed limit is currently reduced to 60 mph from west of the Yellow River to the Shoal River.  The resurfacing project is currently estimated to be completed next summer, while the new interchange is estimated to be completed in summer 2026. All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
